Foxborough/Boston, Massachusetts May 30 – June 6, 2022
We traveled to Boston twice before and I have always had a great time, and this trip was no exception.
We stayed south of Boston in Foxborough and took the train into Boston several times. One day we visited the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (one of my favorite art museums). This is our third visit to the museum and I loved it. The museum contains many of Jonathan Singleton Copley’s paintings. He is a famous artist from Boston. He painted a great picture of Paul Revere that you will probably recognize. The museum also has six Van Gogh’s – which I love.
More Copley..

We could not visit Boston without walking the Freedom Trail. We walked by Boston Commons, Faneuil Hall, the Old North Church Paul Revere’s Home, site of the Boston Massacre, and Quincy Market (just to name a few).
Ok, not technically on the Freedom Trail, but still fun.
One day we went to Quincy, Massachusetts (outside of Boston – but on the train system) to visit the home of John Adams and John Quincy Adams. We saw the birth place of each president and the home that John Adams built after the war which was the home for both former presidents. We learned about Abigale who seemed to have ideas way before her time about slavery and women’s rights. Both of the ranger tours we took were excellent.
We also went to the John F. Kennedy Museum and Library. The museum has a stunning view of the Charles River and because JFK is a more recent president, the museum has more technology. We watched several short movies about his life before the presidency, the 1960 campaign and the Cuban missile crisis. The museum is a little choppy and hard to follow, but the exhibits are well done. Overall we enjoyed our visit.
The RV park was a large resort with several pools, basketball courts, pickleball courts, tennis courts, and a spa. The park had a beer festival on Saturday during our stay and it was pretty amazing.
We will be spending a full two weeks in Cape Cod next.
“Boston” – well I actually have two favorite songs with this name.
“Boston” by Annalise Emerick – she performed at the 30A singer/songwriter festival and Steve and I really liked her music. Unfortunately, she is no longer performing and now works for Girls Write Nashville (a non profit that empowers youth in Nashville).
“Boston” by Augustana – I love this band, unfortunately, the band broke up and the lead singer is touring on his own. Maybe that will work out.
Cool stuff as always. Did that Beer Festival have Bud Light in a Bottle?
Love Y’all
