Savannah Georgia October 18 – 22, 2021
Jekyll Island Georgia October 22 – 28, 2021
Ah Savannah! Steve and I have only been to Savannah once previously and that was a long time ago. We took a trolley tour to visit the historic district which was unchanged. We hopped on and off to view the squares, River Street, and other sites. We had lunch at an oyster bar near a walking district. We also had a great Sunday brunch at Collins Quarter at Forsyth Park. It was awesome. I loved Savannah on both of my visits and would visit again.
Our next stop was Jekyll Island, Georgia. Steve and I have visited Jekyll Island Georgia on two previous occasions. The first was for our 5th wedding anniversary and we stayed at the Jekyll Island Resort Club in one of the cottages. The second time, we stayed at the main resort with two other couples to attend a murder mystery weekend. We had a fabulous time on both visits.
This visit we rode the island on our bikes and realized just how much more the island had to offer. The resort was still there and wonderful, however, the island had many more hotels and restaurants . The bike path circled the island, so we rode through the resort, by the beach, and by the bay. Unfortunately – no breweries, but we went to happy hour at Tortuga Jacks (a bar on the beach) to listen to live music. Our friends Johnny and Julia drove up from Jacksonville and met us for brunch at the Wharf.
