“Going up the Country”

Auburn, Alabama, March 14 – March 19, 2022
Charlotte North Carolina (Cavendish Brewing) March 19 – March 20, 2022
Greenville, North Carolina March 20 – March 22

I thought it appropriate to kick off our next adventure with a stop in Auburn, since we stopped here in 2020 on our way to North Carolina for the summer and in 2021 on or way to the Great Lakes. The weather was chilly, but we still hiked the trails at Chewacla (the park where we always stay), went into downtown, and stopped the draft house.

I love Auburn!

We made a one night stop at a harvest host location near Charlotte called Cavendish Brewing. The beer here was pretty good. Since we were here on a Saturday, we were lucky enough to see a band (or unlucky – because they were not that good). The brewery had a Harry Potter theme and played the moves continuously on at least one television.

We stopped in Greenville North Carolina to see our friend Jay J., who is a music professor at East Carolina University. My father’s family is from North Carolina and we visited the basketball arena which is named Minges (my grandmother’s maiden name) named for my great grand uncle. WOW!

Next stop is Baltimore and the reason why we are so far north so early in the year – Steve’s reunion at Johns Hopkins.

Hello from North Carolina Beach state Park!
We are nearing our first year out full timing. Still loving it and look forward to round two. Headed back to WI to camp out for 3 months then head west. Looking forward to the Albuquerque Balloon fest in October. Been on my bucket list for years!

We met in Grand Rapids MN. @ Pokegama Dam COE. July 2021

It is great to hear from you guys. I am glad that you are enjoying life on the road. We love it as well. We will be in New England this year because of Steve’s reunion in Baltimore and we are having upgrades to the RV at Morryde in Indiana in November (the only appointment we could get) Sorry we are going to miss you this year. Maybe we will meet again next year. Our plan is go to west in March and stay for two seasons. I have always wanted to go to the Albuquerque Balloon fest as well. I know you guys will have a great time. Thanks for touching base. We all (Ziva included) loved the park in Grand Rapids and we enjoyed meeting you. Give Ella a hug from me.
      Monica
