“High Steppin”

Asheville, North Carolina – September 9 – September 15, 2020

After a wonderful week at Watauga Dam, we moved on to Asheville, North Carolina. Steve and I had both been to Asheville a couple of times and were looking forward to this visit. We stayed at Lake Powhatan Recreation Area and Campground. The campground reminded me of Chewacla because the park was set in the woods, but only a couple of miles from civilization. The park was beautiful and was near the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The park was also near the North Carolina Arboretum. We walked the paths and enjoyed the exhibits. The lego exhibit was pretty cool.

We ventured into Asheville and walked around the city. We walked in a few stores. My favorite was Tops for Shoes. It was fabulous! We ate lunch at an outdoor mexican restaurant. Most of the breweries were open but only serving outside. We enjoyed beer at Bhramari. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the beer!

“High Steppin” by The Avett Brothers

Songs by the Avett Brothers remind me of North Carolina. They are from Concord and most of the videos show scenes from North Carolina.
