Eastham (Cape Cod) Maine June 6 – June 20, 2022

We stayed in Cape Cod for two weeks which allowed us to “chill out” after our frantic travel schedule through Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. We arrived in Cape Cod on Ziva’s birthday and she had a great time opening her presents. She turned 10, so it was a big birthday for her.

The park was right out the Cape Cod Rail Trail which runs about 26 miles. The trail was beautiful and we rode most days. We were also close to the Cape Cod National Seashore. The beaches were pretty, but I am pretty spoiled from the white sandy beaches of the Florida Gulf Coast.

The Cape has several towns along the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay. We visited a few, but there were a lot, and if we visited them all, we would not have been able to relax – this traveling can be work! We went to Provincetown which is on the northernmost point of the Cape. This is a pretty cool town that reminds me of a mix between New Orleans and Key West. We visited Hyannis for a day and had lunch. We went to Chatham several times, mostly because our park was pretty close to this city. We also went up to Wellfleet to see live music and have dinner on the water with our new friends Bob and Michelle.

We were super excited about the cape which is why we stayed in the area for two weeks. We were underwhelmed about the entire area. I think we will skip this area on any trip to New England.

Our next stop is Scarborough, Maine near Portland.
